About

I’m Rich Yacco and I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of great people throughout my career. In addition to owning and operating my own company I have held staff positions at the following organizations:

James Logan High School
In the spring of 2021 I retired from teaching broadcasting and filmmaking courses for nine years at this Union City school. My Electronic Media Production (EMP) Academy students produced the Logan Live newscast most school days; Digital Video Arts students created films; and Multimedia Workshop students broadcast sports and other live events.

The Media Academy, Media College Preparatory High School
For nine years I taught at this inner-city Oakland high school career academy. My courses included Radio-TV Production, Graphic Design for Electronic Media, and Media Studies. I also served as the academy’s co-director.

Cogswell Polytechnical College
For five years I taught video courses part time as part of the Digital Video and Imaging bachelors degree program, starting on the Cupertino campus and ending at the Sunnyvale campus.

University of California, Santa Cruz, Extension
Through this program I taught K-12 teachers how to use video in their classrooms, mostly at the Institute of Computer Technology’s Sunnyvale campus.

Silicon Valley Confection Company
What a tasty experience I had as Chief Creative Officer and company co-founder. My duties included designing and marketing products such as the Year-2K Bug and the Chocolate Notebook.

Marketing Video Productions
Before I started my own production company I was co-owner and manager for MVP where I produced commercials and corporate videos.

Bay Area Interconnect Productions
As Production Manager I directed a staff that produced numerous commercials, training tapes and sports programs for broadcast and cable distribution. I also served as producer, director, writer and editor for many of the projects.

Teleprompter Corporation
In addition to managing four cable TV stations and creating programming for half of them, I served broadcast clients by operating a mobile production truck.

Peninsula TV Power
While still in college I gained experience in many areas of broadcasting at this local origination station.
